Peoples Dental Plan
The Peoples Dental Plan is a discount dental plan offered to individuals and their families. Plan members are
offered discounts of between 20% and 50% on dental services. For example, the national average for a dental exam is
$34, but an individual using the Peoples discount dental plan would only pay $20. Furthermore, the national average
for an adult cleaning without a discount plan is $68. With the discount plan offered by Peoples, individuals would
only pay $39 for the same cleaning. Through this plan individuals can also receive discounts on cosmetic dental
procedures and orthodontics, such as adolescent dentition.
The Peoples Dental Plan can be used immediately when individuals receive their membership packet. Individuals can
then make an appointment with a participating dentist and will need to present their membership card upon arrival.
This will entitle the cardholder to a discounted rate. Members should be aware that there may be fees due at the
time that services are rendered. The discount dental plan may be used by the individual, their spouse, children
less than 18 years of age, children older than 18 years of age that are still in school, or any other relative that
is financially dependent on the plan’s primary cardholder.
Participating dentists are carefully screened prior to being added to The Peoples Dental Plan’s exclusive list of
providers. Dentists are subject to a credentialing process based on the following types of information: education,
background and location. Members can be sure that the plan’s participating dentists will be able to meet their
family’s dental health needs. Any dental work that was began prior to the individual acquiring a plan membership is
not subject to plan discounts and must be completed by the dentist of origin. Additionally, any dental work
performed by a non-participating dentist is not eligible for a discount rate.
