Group dental health maintenance organization (HMO) plans are available in some states, and indemnity plans (traditional fee-for-service plans) and multi-options features may be available as well.

There several funding options available to employers that purchase a Metlife dental plan. These funding arrangement include: voluntary and employer sponsored options as well as fully insured and self-funded options. The various funding arrangements and dental plans available to employers through Metlife may be contingent upon the number of individuals employed by the company as well as underwriting and the requirements of the state in which the company or organization is located. For example, dental HMO plans are only available in California, Florida, and Texas, and voluntary and employer-sponsored funding options are available to companies with more than 10 employees.
