will usually pinpoint the location immediately. This is also useful for ruling out various places you may have
dropped or otherwise misplaced it. Even if you lost your phone elsewhere, it may be answered by the individual who
found it; you can then collect it from them at your earliest mutual convenience.
If a landline or second cell phone is not readily available, there are a few online services that allow you to

part, it can quickly identify the location of your phone if it is in close proximity to you.
Another alternative is to use the GPS tracking function available on many phones. Your cell phone provider may be
able to track down your phone using this function; however, many cell phone providers will not assist you to find
your phone unless you have already signed up for a GPS tracking service with them. Alternatively, you may be able
to locate and install free GPS tracking software that will allow you to pinpoint the cell phone’s location
yourself. Usually this requires that the lost cell phone still be powered on and capable of receiving and sending
signals, however, so it won’t work in all cases.
If you are uncertain whether your cell phone has been lost or stolen, it is imperative that you inform your
cell phone provider within a couple of hours of its disappearance so that you are not held responsible for any
