Homemade Teeth Whitener
Many people desire to have a
brighter, whiter smile, but they may not have the time or resources to commit to professional whitening
treatments. Furthermore, these same individuals may also desire to use something other than store-bought
teeth whitening kits to whiten their smile. These are the types of individuals that are most likely
interested in homemade teeth whitener treatments. There are a couple of teeth whitening options that
individuals may use at home without having to purchase a special at-home teeth whitening kit. Using everyday
essentials that most people already have in their homes, individuals may able to remove unsightly stains from
their teeth as well as clean and polish them.
When baking soda and salt are combined, they make for an excellent homemade teeth whitener. Baking
soda and salt are both mild abrasives; therefore, they can effectively clean and polish the teeth. However,
this teeth whitening treatment should only be used once every two weeks as the baking soda and salt mixture has
the potential to damage tooth enamel. To successfully use this treatment, a toothbrush should be used to apply
half of the baking soda and salt mixture to the teeth. The mixture will serve as toothpaste. After normal
brushing, apply the remaining half of the mixture to the teeth for 10 to 20 minutes then rinse. This process
will help to remove stains and whiten teeth.
Hydrogen peroxide is another fantastic homemade teeth whitener. If using hydrogen peroxide, be certain that the
solution is three percent peroxide or less. If the peroxide solution is greater than three percent, individuals
will be at risk for tooth enamel damage. To use this treatment, mix the hydrogen peroxide with water. Simply
rinse with the solution after normal brushing. Hydrogen peroxide is a great product to help whiten stained
teeth, and it is also an ideal product for other dental issues as well.
