Guardian Dental Insurance
Guardian dental insurance plans are typically provided by small businesses and large corporations as an added
benefit to their employees. One of the largest dental insurance providers in the United States, Guardian also
offers an extensive array of other products including life insurance, retirement plans, and estate planning.
Guardian’s employer-sponsored dental insurance plans offer participants a number of choices and ways to save on
dental procedures and to improve their dental health through Guardian’s preventive dental services.
Guardian dental insurance options vary depending on the region. One of the most popular is the Guardian DentalGuard
Insurance Preferred PPO, which allows members to realize significant savings by choosing an in-network dental
provider. Out-of-network coverage is also available, but generally has a higher deductible and higher percentages
paid by the plan participant. The PPO network includes over 90,000 dental care locations, making it simple for
members to find a dentist in their area. The DentalGuard Basic and DentalGuard Basic Plus plans are less expensive,
but offer a lower level of insurance as a consequence; for employees who mainly take advantage of preventive
services like cleanings and fluoride treatments, these plans can provide affordable dental care without the high
cost of more extensive coverage.
Employees who participate in selected Guardian dental insurance plans can take advantage of Guardian’s Maximum
Rollover plan, which allows members to roll over the unused portion of their yearly maximum benefit to a special
Maximum Rollover Account. By allowing these funds to accumulate from year to year, rather than being lost if
unused, Guardian provides a greater level of financial flexibility and utility to its members. In order to
participate in Maximum Rollover, members must be enrolled in an eligible plan and not exceed their annual maximum
benefit amount. A vision discount benefit is included with employer-sponsored plans; this network-based plan offers
discounts on glasses, contacts, and eye examinations as an added benefit of Guardian dental plans.
