AARP Dental Insurance

Designed especially for older Americans, the AARP dental insurance plan offers exclusive savings on dental services for its members. Working in cooperation with Delta Dental, one of the most respected dental insurance providers in the country, AARP has negotiated favorable rates and benefits for members, including lower out-of-pocket expenses, the ability to choose any dentist you choose, and a convenient claims process that requires no paperwork when you visit a participating Delta Dental office. The plan covers most pre-existing conditions, and AARP members enjoy the advantage of the largest dental network in the United State with over 142,000 locations throughout the country.

AARP dental insurance is provided through the Delta Dental PPO, which offers members the flexibility to visit any dentist they choose, in or out of the Delta Dental network. Of course, in-network services are offered at a reduced rate, saving money and maximizing the level of benefits provided to members. This insurance is available in two tiers of coverage; Plan A covers 100% of preventive and diagnostic procedures like cleanings and X-rays, and covers most other services at a 50% coinsurance rate. Dental accidents are also covered at 100% under Plan A; a low deductible and higher annual maximum benefit make this an attractive choice for those willing to pay a little more for their dental coverage. Plan B covers 80% of normal preventive care and X-rays, with 50% coverage of most other services; no coverage for dental accidents is provided under this option. A higher deductible and lower yearly maximum benefits allow AARP and Delta Dental to offer this option at a lower cost than for Plan A.

For many AARP members, the option to obtain dental insurance at lower group rates is of great benefit, allowing them to get the dental care they need at an affordable cost. By joining forces with Delta Dental, AARP is providing the highest quality dental services at reasonable prices for its members as an added benefit of their membership.
